My new poem, entitled “To Those Agritourists About to Die, We Salute You,” was recently published by Rust + Moth. You can find the poem by following this link. I wrote the poem after listening to someone on a panel talk about the need for increased agricultural tourist in Wyoming. It got me thinking of all the ways it could horribly wrong.
The poem is not only a purposely transposed reference to the well-known latin phrase , but the AC/DC album from 1981. Hopefully, it adds to the comic effect of the poem. What’s not funny (or perhaps it is)–each of the ways to die in the poem come from actual occurrences, even the line about swallowing wasps on a lunch break.
Rust + Moth also took another of my poem, entitled “Creature from the Radiator.”
